Report: Population boom to change U.S.

According to a report based on census figures, minorities make up one third of the population right now, but in 2050, they will skyrocket to 54 percent.

The report cited fertility and mortality rates, and international immigration.

Meanwhile, the number of seniors over the age of 65 will more than double, and those older than 85 will triple.

The changes are expected to place strains on medical care, educational needs and alter the face of the labor force.
