City of Corona cuts over 100 jobs

CORONA, Calif. Corona's mayor and city manager say 54 full-time and 15 part-time workers are getting pink slips. The other jobs to be cut are currently vacant.

Nearly all departments are affected.

Officials say the layoffs will trim more than $10 million from the city budget, and the step was taken because of a sharp drop in property and sales tax revenue.

Officials say the cuts won't hurt police and fire services.
