Study: Cold virus attacks genes

New research reveals how the cold virus gets into more than just your nose and throat.

University of Calgary researchers discovered how the common cold attacks genes involved with inflammatory and immune response.

Scientists took cell scrapings 8 hours and 48 hours into a cold. They found little difference at eight hours, but after two days about 6,500 genes showed irregular activity.
