Explosives threats made at UCLA

October 26, 2008 12:00:00 AM PDT
Extremists connected with an animal rights group have allegedly made more threats against UCLA employees. Van drivers, who bring 2,400 UCLA employees to work, are being asked to be on the lookout for firebombs this week.

One anonymous letter allegedly said that shotgun shells have been placed inside van mufflers which could trigger fires.

The group is said to be upset over the university's use of live animals for medical research.

Police say there's no evidence to support the threats.
