Police say /*Edgar Velasquez*/, 26, of North Hollywood, was arrested April 15 and remains in custody. Velasquez was booked for kidnapping, sexual assault and residential burglary. Detectives arrested Velasquez after analyzing fingerprint evidence.
Investigators say Velasquez allegedly kidnapped a 24-year-old woman after hiding inside the back seat of her unlocked vehicle near Kittridge Street and Lankershim Boulevard on March 26. Police say he then drove the woman to an abandoned apartment near Kester Avenue and Sherman Way and sexually assaulted her.
