An unidentified male visited his sister in Reseda at an apartment building at about 3 p.m. Monday. No one answered the door, and the household was locked. The male noticed blood on a door handle to the house. He called the Los Angeles Police Dept., and the fire department was called in by police.
Police entered the residence and found the 41-year-old victim in a locked bedroom.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, from multiple stab wounds to her upper body. The death has been ruled a homicide and an investigation is ongoing.
The victim and the suspect shared the apartment with the victim's mother, the suspect's grandmother.
The apartment building is located on the 7600 block of Reseda Boulevard at Saticoy Street.
