Chopper makes emergency landing on beach

SANTA MONICA, Calif. It happened at about 7:26 Thursday night.

Police say the pilot of the private chopper was having mechanical problems when he decided to land on the sand in Santa Monica near Venice.

Three people were on board.

The helicopter landed safely and no one was injured.
