Murder prompts call for ATM security

LOS ANGELES L.A. City Councilman Greig Smith wants the city to add a feature to the cash machines that would let customers type a "duress code" alerting police when they're being forced to withdraw cash.

Burk was kidnapped in July while running errands for her mother.

Police say the suspect, Charles Samuel, killed the 17-year-old after she failed to withdraw cash from ATMs.

Smith says technology already exists that lets customers use their pin in reverse to secretly alert officers of a robbery.
