Pursuit suspect hurt in high-speed crash

LONG BEACH, Calif. Police were in high-speed pursuit of a suspect in the Long Beach area. The pursuit was suspended by police due to extremely high speeds posing danger to the public.

A helicopter spotted the suspect vehicle a short time later and police cars resumed the chase.

The suspect crashed into a light pole on southbound Cherry Avenue in north Long Beach.

The suspect was treated for injuries sustained in the crash and possibly for dog bites from police K-9 units. The suspect was transported in custody to the hospital for further treatment.
