3 surrender to police after pursuit, standoff

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. The incident started at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday with a car-to-car shooting at Tampa Avenue and Lanark Street in Winnetka. A patrol unit spotted one of the cars involved, a blue Toyota Tundra pickup truck, and suspects took off.

About a half-dozen LAPD cruisers followed the truck through the San Fernando Valley. The pursuit lasted about five to 10 minutes.

The suspects in the pickup made their way into a Northridge neighborhood and turned onto a cul-de-sac on Wilbur Avenue near Roscoe Boulevard. The suspects then pulled into an open garage and quickly closed the door as officers pulled up behind them.

LAPD officers surrounded the home and there was a short standoff as police tried to get the suspects come out and surrender. The three suspects eventually walked out of the house and were taken into custody.

The investigation continues in Northridge, as authorities try to determine if anyone else is still inside the home.

No one was injured in the car-to-car shooting, which appears to be gang related.
