Last effort to stop sale of O.C. Fairgrounds

COSTA MESA, Calif. Local politicians say they'll deliver more than 50,000 signatures of people who oppose the sale to the governor.

State officials say they already have seven bids on the property, which is set to be auctioned off on Thursday to help ease California's budget crisis.

The Orange County Board of Supervisors and the city of Costa Mesa agreed to jointly bid on the 150-acre property if the sale is not stopped.
