Pedestrian reported dead on Blue Line track

A pedestrian was reported stuck underneath a Metro Blue Line train Friday afternoon, and was confirmed dead.

L.A. City firefighters responded to a report of a pedestrian stuck under a Metro Blue Line train Friday afternoon. Authorities confirmed the pedestrian was killed.The incident was reported at 1700 E. Century Blvd. near Compton Ave. in Watts.

The victim was still stuck underneath a rail car at 5 p.m. Friday. Surface disruptions were expected along the Blue Line route.

An investigation was under way Friday afternoon.

The train was evacuated. Passengers were corralled in a nearby parking lot.

No passengers were reported injured.

The deceased victim was identified as a 30-year-old female who was traveling eastbound on foot near the rail crossing.
