Suspect Tased after attacking wife, police

A man suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance and attacking his wife and police was arrested Monday night and is charged with assault on a police officer, domestic violence and child endangerment.Ventura Police officers responded to the 10,000 block of Daisy Drive at about 7 p.m. on a domestic disturbance call.

The suspect, Luis Suarez, 24, reportedly had choked his wife and thrown a small metal table that nearly struck one of his children in the family's apartment.

Officers say Suarez gave them a false name and attempted to run away. Officers gave chase and caught up with Suarez, who allegedly fought with officers.

Police say it was at that point Suarez was Tased. He was placed under arrest and taken to Ventura County Medical Center.

Susana Mungaray, 29, Suarez's wife declined medical attention.

None of the children, who range in age from 10 months to 12 years old, was harmed.

One of the officers was treated for minor injuries.
