80-year-old female burglar gets 3 years in prison
LOS ANGELES At age 80, Doris Thompson is still on the job
-- as a crook. Her criminal record stretches back to 1955. Thompson
was in court again this week and pleaded guilty to stealing about
$1,400 from a Los Angeles area doctors' office. She's made a long
career of breaking into medical offices. The prosecutor says
Thompson "just likes to steal." She called the prosecutor
"sweetie." Thompson also thanked the judge, for ordering her to
serve a three-year sentence in state prison rather than the county
jail.
