Ventura announces new assistant police chief

VENTURA, Calif. Commander Fenwick will be sworn in on April 1, 2010.

Corney added, "This was an extremely difficult decision to reach. Quinn was selected internally from amongst our department's six Commanders, all of which are extremely talented, dedicated, and capable individuals." Commander Fenwick began his law enforcement career in 1981 as a Ventura Police Department cadet.

He rose through the ranks, and was ultimately promoted to his current position of Commander in January 2001.

Quinn holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara and graduated from Command College in 2009.

Commander Fenwick says, "I am very excited and grateful to have been selected as Assistant Chief. Chief Corney has placed his trust in me and I know it was a difficult decision for him to make, especially considering the quality of candidates from which he made his decision.
