Loved ones describe Ramos as a good guy who stayed out of trouble.
"We love him, and we're going to miss him," said Ramos' friend Stephanie Ocampo. "He's known to make everybody laugh, and everybody is going to remember that big smile of his."
Police say that Ramos was walking home Wednesday at around 10:30 p.m. when two men and a teenager confronted him near 1336 E. Kenwood Ave, in a neighborhood south of the 91 Freeway. Police allege that these individuals had robbed others earlier that night.
According to authorities, Edgar Salgado, 20, Aquiles Sanchez, 20 and a 15-year-old tried to rob Ramos of his wallet when they got into an argument. They allegedly shot Ramos in the chest.
Police made the arrests thanks to some tips sent in from the public. All three are now facing murder charges.
Ramos' loved ones gathered at a small, makeshift memorial in Anaheim Friday, but a formal memorial service is planned for next week.
