Thieves make off with a pair of ATMs

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. Ricky Coffey, Richard Bockman and Curtis Weber are facing multiple felony charges. Deputies said they are the three men caught by surveillance cameras stealing an ATM full of cash from a grocery store in Aliso Viejo.

"Three suspects were recorded on the store's surveillance system as they entered the store and carried the ATM outside to a white box truck and drove away with the machine," said Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens.

Investigators said the box truck was set on fire Tuesday morning in the city of Orange. Inside the truck was a charred ATM machine, but it wasn't the one stolen from Aliso Viejo. The machine was matched to an ATM stolen during a heist in Brea.

"It's believed that the ATM in that truck was stolen earlier that morning in the city of Brea and that the suspects our investigators arrested were also involved in the Brea ATM theft which is under investigation by the Brea Police Department," said Hutchens.

Authorities say Bockman was arrested at a Riverside County casino and nearly $20,000 in $20 bills was recovered. Coffey and Weber were arrested at a hotel in Anaheim and found with several thousand dollars in cash, also in $20 bills.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department credits the Fullerton police department for helping to crack the case. They were able to identify one of the suspects through DNA evidence.
