Ferguson tells Winfrey she had been drinking

CHICAGO In an interview to air Tuesday, the Duchess of York tells /*Oprah Winfrey*/ she had been drinking at the time she was caught on camera offering access to her ex-husband for $724,000.

"I haven't faced the devil in the face because I was in the gutter," said Ferguson. "I'm aware of the fact that I'd been drinking. I was not in my right place."

Ferguson says she hasn't yet watched the video closely.

She told Oprah that she wanted $38,000 for her friend, whom she wouldn't identify. She says she's not quite sure why she asked for the rest of the money.

Ferguson says she is in deep financial debt, but said she is considering filing for bankruptcy.

She would not confirm a report Winfrey said she'd seen that says she receives $20,000 a year in her divorce settlement, saying that she is prohibited from discussing it because of a confidentiality agreement she signed.

The 50-year-old married Andrew, who is fourth in line to the throne, in 1986. They had two children, princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, before divorcing in 1996.

You can watch Oprah's interview with Sarah Ferguson at Tuesday at 3 p.m. on ABC7.
