Gunman in Fontana standoff found dead

FONTANA, Calif. The incident began around 11 a.m. with the report of a domestic dispute on the 8300 block of Cherry Avenue.

When deputies arrived, they began exchanging gunfire with the suspect who soon went back into his house, refusing to surrender.

After a 5-hour standoff, /*SWAT*/ officers moved in and discovered the suspect dead.

It's still unknown if he was killed by the deputies or if he took his own life.

As one standoff was beginning, another had just ended.

A standoff in Panorama City between police and a gunman that lasted nearly 8 hours ended at 4 a.m. Sunday. The man was arrested by police.
