A Newbury Park man may be able to officially say he caught the biggest fish ever in California, and maybe even on the entire West Coast. It's a short-fin mako shark that weighed in at nearly 1,100 pounds.

Sean Gizatullin caught it off the coast of Oxnard this weekend.

He's now waiting to hear from the California Department of Fish and Game to determine if his catch is a state record.
