A 10-year-old boy was in a serious condition with stomach wounds, while another spectator was gored in the back. At one point, a spectator actually grabbed the bull's tail to try to keep it from doing more damage to the crowd.
Spanish media reports the animal was removed from the arena and put down.
The incident occurred Wednesday at the Tafalla arena in the northern region of Navarra during a spectacle in which mostly young people try to get a bull to charge at them so they can dodge it with slick movements of their bodies. Unlike standard bullfights, the bulls are not killed in these events.
The incident comes just less than one month after a Spanish region banned bullfighting.
