Stanton man convicted on child-porn charges

WESTMINSTER, Calif. Alejandro Lorenzo Contreras, 24, was convicted Monday after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography and child annoyance charges.

Prosecutors say on July 13 he followed three young girls inside the Stanton Public Library, making them feel uncomfortable. They say he then followed the girls out of the library and asked the 12-year-old to take and send a picture of herself to him by cell phone.

Contreras was arrested and found to be in possession of child pornography. Along with jail time, he's expected to be given probation and must register as a sex offender.
