Today was the only day the movie crew was scheduled to shoot in the Thumb.
Earlier today we got a quick look at Hugh Jackman. You may remember him from movies like "X-Men" and "Australia."
This scene was shot in along Atwater Road in Bingham Township, just outside of Ubly today. The crew also shot in Sanilac County.
The Internet Movie Data Base says the movie is set in the future when robot boxing is a popular sport. It goes on to say that Jackman plays a struggling promoter who thinks he's found a champion, and along the way he learns he has a son.
The production crew said today is the very last day of filming for the movie that is set to hit screens next year.
Filming started in June, with the bulk of the work being done in the Detroit area. Today's production was focused on driving scenes, with some of the shots involving a stunt double for Jackman.
Movie Location Manager Tom Jacob said the Michigan's film tax incentives helped lure production to the Ubly area, as did the atmosphere.
"Ubly and the surrounding areas has a Normal Rockwell-like quality. And though I'm sure some of the residents just see this as their home and their farmland, we see this as just absolutely beautiful countryside. And we're happy to be here."
