Pfizer recalls nearly 200K bottles of Lipitor

LOS ANGELES Pfizer said health problems related to the smell are unlikely. The drug company and the bottle supplier are investigating the source of the odor.

Each bottle contains 90 Lipitor tablets in a 40-milligram dose.

The recall includes the following five lots of Lipitor bottles in the U.S.: 0855020, 0819020, 0842020, 0843020, 0854020.

All of the lots have an expiration date of January, 2013.

Pfizer said patients can return their prescriptions to their pharmacist or call the drug company at 1-888-LIPITOR for further information.
