Boot camp makes fitness trends list for 2011

The economy has already slimmed down our wallets, but now it is affecting the way we work out. Boot camp is hot and Pilates is not, according to an American College of Sports Medicine survey of fitness trends.

Experts say pilates is perceived as more expensive with slower progress, requiring more workout time and concentration.

The study shows fast-paced, calisthenic-based boot camp programs gaining popularity.

Fitness trend trackers say more people are looking for a one-hour all-over fitness workout.
