Betty White named honorary forest ranger

Actress Betty White is adding the title of forest ranger to her already lengthy resume.Tuesday in Washington, D.C., White was made an honorary forest ranger by the U.S. Forest Service.

The 88-year-old actress is a longtime animal rights supporter and also a nature lover.

"Oh, I wanted to be a forest ranger so much - first thing I ever wanted to be. But girls back then couldn't be forest rangers," White said.

In fact, today, women make up 38 percent of the Forest Service's work force.
