Field told the students that joining the school's theater department was a turning point in her life and she encouraged them to utilize, learn from and enjoy the new stage.
The school is now called Birmingham Community Charter High School.
Sally Field honored at Van Nuys alma mater
LAKE BALBOA, Calif. The "Gidget" star who now appears on the ABC show, "Brothers and Sisters" graduated from the school in 1964. She was thrilled to return to her roots and witness the official unveiling of the Sally Field Performing Arts Center.
