Woman who survived brutal stabbing testifies

PORT HURON, Mich. Mara Skinner testified Tuesday in Port Huron District Court. "He shouted, 'Hon, Hon,' and at that same moment he was shouting my name, I felt blunt forces to the back of my, to my back and my head."p

She said she did not see who was attacking her.

Skinner, a teacher in Yale, says she did not feel pain, just "continuous strikes without pause" on her body.

She says she could hear her husband Paul fighting, but couldn't see him because she was engaged in a fight herself.

Paul died of his injuries.

The couple's 17-year-old adopted daughter, Tia Skinner, James Preston and Jonathan Kurtz, both 18 years old, all face open murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder charges.

This hearing determines if their cases proceed to trial.

In testimony today, Skinner acknowledged she did not approve of her daughter's relationship with Kurtz.

Tia was downstairs watching a movie with the Skinner's older son when the attacks occurred.
