Loma Linda warned of 'door-kick' burglaries

LOMA LINDA, Calif. The suspects knock on doors until they find a home where no one answers, and then they kick down the door and ransack the place.

According to police, the suspects take items like flat-screen TVs, laptop computers, iPads, iPods, Playstations, Wii games and jewelry.

The suspects are able to get in and out of the house within a short time.

Police say they often use a child to knock on the doors. If the resident does answer, the child asks for a person by name who doesn't live there, then the crew moves on until they find an unoccupied home.

Police say if this happens to you, once the suspects leave, look out the window and see if you can get a vehicle description and license plate number.
