The man was taken to Cedars-Sinai in critical condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The MTA said only one line was running between the Universal station and the Hollywood/Western station as of Tuesday afternoon. Normally there are two lines.
Officials said that trains continued making stops at Hollywood/Vine.
