Hundreds stranded overnight in Canadian snow

More than 200 people were rescued after they were stuck in their cars, trapped overnight by a massive snowfall in Ontario, Canada.Highway 420, about 65 miles northeast of Detroit, was shut down by blowing snow and whiteout conditions.

Motorists were trapped for more than 24 hours until rescue crews could take some people to warming centers. Local farmers and snowmobilers rescued others from the bone-chilling cold.

The highway was declared a disaster area.
