Foothill residents wary of storm rolling in

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. For people living in the foothill communities below the Station Fire burn area, the threat of mudslides is still very real.

The Christmas rain falling in La Canada Flintridge is the third wave of wet weather in just over a week.

The hills ravaged by the Station Fire have held so far, but after last February's mudslides that damaged homes, residents in the Paradise Valley neighborhood know it could happen again.

"We've done what we can," said neighbor Henrik Hairapetian, who has been preparing for the rain. "The one thing we're all concerned about is how saturated everything is. The ground can't absorb any more water."
