Man, 92, chews restraining tape after robbery

SHORELINE, Wash. Lester Matteson says the trouble started when he let two men pretending to have car problems into his home in Shoreline, north of Seattle.

Once the men got into the home, they grabbed Matteson and bound him with masking tape to a kitchen chair.

The suspects ransacked the place, stealing more than $400 in cash and Matteson's 2000 Ford pickup truck.

It took the World War II veteran two hours to chew through the masking tape.

"I wasn't frightened. I just couldn't do nothing about it. I'm 92. At 92, you don't wrestle two young men. I have a hard time walking up the hill," said Matteson.

Authorities were searching for suspects believed to be in their 20s.
