A flaw in several versions of Windows including Windows XP has opened a way for hackers to take control of a computer. The attack is delivered through a specifically designed thumbnail image in a Word or PowerPoint file.

The user has to actually open the file in order for the attack to work, so if you have any doubts about an attachment, make sure to double check the source.

Microsoft said it's working on a fix but has not said when it will be available.
