Storm blamed for deadly Oklahoma car crash

MIAMI, Okla.

A truck plunged about 80 feet into an icy river near the town of Miami, just north of Tulsa, Thursday morning. Eight people were in the truck.

Witnesses saw several of them clinging onto the roof of their vehicle. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol now says two people died, and not three as previously reported. At least three others were rushed to the hospital.

Authorities say they don't know if the driver lost control of the truck. The weather conditions were miserable with temperatures around minus 9 degrees with 20 inches of snow on the ground.
