CT man tells 911 dispatcher he's growing pot

FARMINGTON, Conn.

"I was just growing some marijuana, and I was just wondering what, how much, you know, trouble you can get in for one plant," the man said to the 911 dispatcher.

The dispatcher told him he was in possession. Police quickly showed up to the man's house and found a small amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia.

He was taken into custody.

"It's a first, yeah. I can't say I've ever had this happen before," said Farmington police officer Marshall Porter.

The man reportedly told officers that he made the 911 call to make his mother angry. He now faces several charges including possession and illegal cultivation.
