Whimpering animal heard in OC drain pipe

February 11, 2011 12:01:21 AM PST
A whimpering animal in a drain pipe at Northcutt Elementary School in Fountain Valley still hasn't come out.

Animal control officials kept up patrols overnight hoping to get a glimpse of what they believe is a dog. On Thursday, there was a huge rescue effort.

Flour was even put down to see the animal's tracks in case it left on its own, but so far, that hasn't happened.

A humane trap baited with canned food was left near the entrance to the pipe, but officials say the animal hasn't touched it.
