Ceremony held for 1st female officer killed

A ceremony was held Friday for Officer Tina Kerbrat, the first female LAPD officer to die in the line of duty.

She was the first female Los Angeles police officer to die in the line of duty.

Fellow officers, friends and family gathered in North Hollywood Friday for a special ceremony for Officer Tina Kerbrat.

Kerbrat was shot and killed by an armed suspect 20 years ago. She had only been in the field for four months.

The LAPD women's running team will be competing in Kerbrat's honor during the Baker to Las Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.
