The woman's body was found at Turnbull Canyon Road and Skyline Drive at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. According to a coroner, the body is a Hispanic woman in her 30s.
Authorities combed the rugged area where the body was found, trying to find more information.
The cause of death was not determined, and it was unknown how long the body had been there.
The L.A. County Coroner's Office did not identify her, but did say the woman had been missing, and the case was being investigated as a homicide.
No arrests have been made.
