Everyone assumed that the goose that would follow Dominic Ehrler on his daily walks at Echo Park Lake was a female, but officials now say the bird is a male.
The gander befriended Ehrler, accompanying him on walks around the lake and flying alongside his motor scooter.
The lake is being drained for renovation, so the L.A. Zoo took the bird in. Once there, experts realized it was a male.
