Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox announced Thursday that the Oscar-winning film will be re-released April 6 in 2012. The date will coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Titanic setting sail on April 10.
Director James Cameron said the film was "painstakingly" converted to 3-D and promises "an epic experience."
"Titanic" won 11 Academy Awards and grossed more than $1.8 billion worldwide upon its released in 1997. That's second only to Cameron's "Avatar."
