Boy killed, uncle hurt in South LA shooting

SOUTH LOS ANGELES Officials said the uncle was holding the 2-year-old boy on the porch of a house on East 55th Street when they were both shot in the head at around 8:30 p.m.

The boy was pronounced dead at a hospital. The uncle, a man in his 30s, is said to be in critical condition.

Authorities said they believe the victims were unintended targets of random gunfire.

Police have no suspects. The incident remained under investigation.
