Officials said Joshua Packer, 21, barricaded himself in his jail cell after authorities didn't allow him to call his dad on Father's Day. He had lost his phone privileges due to previous behavior.
Authorities said Packer had to be sedated because he started fighting with deputies when they tried to remove him from the cell.
Packer suffered some injuries to his face and a couple of deputies suffered abrasions. Authorities said Packer probably will be charged for assaulting the deputies.
Packer is accused of entering the house of Brock and Davina Husted in 2009 and fatally stabbing both of them. Davina Husted was pregnant at the time. Packer is facing three murder felonies, as well as robbery and burglary charges.
