OC beach-linking street shut after oil spill

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.

The southbound side of Goldenwest Street between Ellis and Garfield avenues is shut down.

The owner of the broken pipeline will have to pay the costs to clean up the leak.

Crews worked to clean up about 850 gallons of crude oil that bubbled up from a break in an underground pipeline.

Beach-bound traffic was being detoured onto nearby streets.

The pipe is expected be fixed by the end of the day on Tuesday, but there is still no word on how long it will take to finish the spill cleanup and road repair.
