Jim Morrison honored on anniversary of death

LOS ANGELES

The former Doors lead singer is being remembered around the world, including in Southern California where he lived for many years.

In Huntington Beach, the Rock and Roll Emporium unveiled a Morrison exhibit.

It includes candid photos of the singer, and most significantly poems and lyrics handwritten by Morrison himself.

The exhibit will continue through July 15.

Morrison died of heart failure July 3, 1971 in Paris. He was 27.

On Sunday, his former bandmates lit candles at his grave.
