COMPTON, Calif. --
A hit-and-run driver is on the loose after killing a 50-year-old man in an unincorporated area near Compton on Tuesday night. Enrique Lemus-Bautista was riding his bike through the intersection of Avalon and Redondo Beach boulevards when he was hit by a car.
It's not clear who had the green light, but officials say the driver never stopped. Lemus-Bautista was declared dead at the scene.
Initial reports describe the suspect's car as a Toyota, but investigators say it could be a black BMW.
