American Airlines jet way collapses; pilot, passenger hurt

LOS ANGELES

An American Airlines pilot and a passenger were hurt when a jet way collapsed, throwing them at least 10 feet to the ground.

A jet way is the device that connects the airplane to the terminal. The flight was arriving from Chicago. As the captain and a passenger were exiting the plane, they were injured when the bridge suddenly collapsed.

Both were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

On Thursday, American Airlines says an investigation is under way and they are inspecting all their jet ways.
