Divers saved after being left behind by boat

KEY BISCAYNE, Fla.

Paul Kline and Fernando Garcia Puerta were underwater for about an hour. When they surfaced, they discovered their charter boat had left without them.

With daylight fading, the two divers found a fishing buoy and hung on.

"Well you know, the first thing that you kind of think about is there's a famous movie about divers that get left in the middle of the ocean, and it doesn't end very well," said Kline. "I wasn't going to give up. We managed to find a buoy. We were hanging onto that so that way if somebody came to look for us, we'd be in one spot."

The divers were stranded for two hours when a yacht spotted them and took them onboard.

The diving company that ran the excursion said the boat operator is to blame.
