The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. on the 11000 block of Terra Vista Way. The fire charred 8 acres about one-mile north of the 210 Freeway, near some homes which were not threatened.
The steep terrain made firefighting challenging, but the flames moved slowly making it possible for firefighters to put out the flames in 54 minutes.
Authorities did not evacuate any residents and no structures were damaged. Investigators say the cause of the fire is suspicious.
