Runner who collapsed, died in LA half-marathon identified

The runner who collapsed near the finish line of Sunday's Rock 'n' Roll half marathon in Downtown Los Angeles and later died has been identified.

Charles Whitmore Riske, 37, of Costa Mesa, collapsed in the 600 block of West Olympic Boulevard Sunday morning.

He died at a hospital a short while later. The coroner's office has not determined a cause of death.

The run, with some 8,000 runners and walkers, began and ended at L.A. Live.
